The cutscene that was originally supposed to play when you encounter the Butcher in Diablo.
All of Kurtzman Trek literally has nothing worthwhile compared to this simple scene.
I have an alternate universe theory about the Feringe . Sometime during the late twentieth century on earth during a houseparty attended by hip hop music promoters and several obscure but rising stars and their Hoes a wormhole opened . Probably meddling by the Q. That isolated but genetically diverse group of very materialistic , wealth worshiping, hard working , leisure loving people became the seed for an isolated culture on an exoplanet which had previously abandoned alien technology. And thus the Ferenge were founded.
You don't even have to take away comforts just threaten them
My inner chimp roars its approval at Quarks summary
A very accurate and very true statement about humans from 2 beings who are not humans.......
Honestly though, would Ferengi fair any better if you took away their entire hope for profit? Any living species would get fierce when their survival is on the line.
Well, Quark isn't wrong, you don't believe me? Just look at Israel's thoughts on Gaza...
How dare Israel defend themselves against terrorists.
We can be your best friend, or the enemy from your darkest nightmares.
"Me? I prefer to take it in the butt from the Dominion. Ferengi are known for their nobility!" -Quark
" Let me tell you about humans nephew. Switch Charmin for Good Value toilet paper and they become indistinguishable from a ferocious Klingon "- Quark. Probably
Mail Order...Quark always a business man
Honestly, Captain Kirk can beat the Gorn Captain but he can't beat this old geezer! 🤔
We are the master species.
"Ambassador... Are Vulcans afraid of Humans?" "Yes... They remind us of what we really are."
Romulan Judo techniques obviously taught at the Academy
He's 100% right. When the power grid goes down we are going to be savages in 8 hours. Half the population will be dead in six months.
Captain Tracy is a psycho but incredibly able.
Watching Kirk here reminds me of a fighter who gets busted up in a match, and then during the rematch, remembers his mistakes of the first bout and triumphs the second time around.
At any one point we are about two weeks away from savagery, because that’s about the amount of food a typical supermarket stocks. Once the food runs out it will be like flipping a switch.
I have to disagree. We turn a lot more nasty than any Klingon ever dreamed of being when we're pushed too far.
Quark kills a guy after this.
did captain tracey ever meet bob wesley or matt decker? i wonder if all flag officers knew each other in the classic star trek series time frame. because the service was smaller than. so maybe they all attended the academy together.
The only criticism i have is that Quark said "as" instead of more.
Free Palestine!!!
“Don’t push the pink skins to the thin ice” An Andorian Once said to a Vulcan.
Wow in the 1st fight he beat Kirk quite easily
Tracey either has a hard head or he just knows how to roll with punches.
Quark is 100% on point here. A great IRL philosopher once pointed out that civilization is just a thin veneer holding back the darker tendencies of humanity. It really doesn't take much to get humans to revert to an animalistic feral state.
Very accurate of the military in the us take away the coffee and caffeine and you risk a war
Morgan Woodward was one of the best actors, period.
gay
such a fan
love it
1:21 That reminds me, I need to change the battery in my house's smoke detector.
as a combat veteran OIF every word this man says is true
Baseball, root beer, darts, atom bombs.
Then Starfleet changed to the astra milltaram 30000 years later
Great scene. I remember it after all these years.
They still have mail order in the 24th century...?
A great description of the human condition. I've been in war, I've seen how we can become evil, vindictive and cruel.
Every time I watch this,. I think Capt. Tracey is a Bad Ass! Each time Kirk cracks him with a solid punch he just shakes it off! Plus he blocks most of Kirks punches too.
It's probably why Kirk would take up wood chopping. The activity would make his hands tougher and turn him into a much heavier hitter and a powerhouse in his advanced years and would be more than a match for Dr. Soran in a fist fight.
I feel sorry for the jem'hadar.
Maybe it's just because we don't actually have any other races to compare to, but I feel like Quark's statement would apply to any race, not just humans.
Kirk-Fu got out-fued in this one!
Cant you say the same thing for any species in this though?
Rule of Acquisition #125 You can't make a deal if you're dead. Quark quotes this one later in the episode.
Mankind can be just as evil and barbaric as any. “You a human, you kill your own kind to win battles.” - Darkseid
DS9 kept it real.
Quark was a fantastic character. This show had top tier writing and character development.
I wonder what he is referring to when he says “look at those faces-look at those eyes”.
